Tonight, July 7 Tuesday 8:30pm would have been a week since that traumatic incident. I was robbed in Baclaran. They got away with my bag on their shoulders which I would have carried happily to the office.

Shortly after, I saw a police mobile. We searched every streets in Baclaran but failed. The two policemen dropped me at a terminal going to Cavite. Later that night, I reported to work again. I was robbed Tuesday, it was only Thursday that everything sank in. And all that what-could-have-beens came almost annoyingly. I could have fought but was glad that I did not.
Two men came rushing from behind. I saw his right arm split-second before he strangled my neck. His left arm however, had a knife pointed to my neck. I managed to insert my left arm between his and my neck – that gave him a stop from further thrusting his knife there. And my right hand was strongly squeezing his wrist. He was short, I was sure. He only stood at eye level. He was thin and had a long curly hair. And I can still remember his face. I could have fought but glad I did not, because on my right was another guy who stood taller and bigger. I reckon, he was probably 5’10 or taller. I didn’t see his face. I was glad I did not fight.
I hope that they robbed me because somebody close to their hearts was dying in the hospital or their children had a project they could not afford or parents waiting for them with empty stomach. I hope for these things and not because of pure evil. I hope I was able to help.
